Monday and Tuesday we helped Salesforce facilitate their first Admin to App Hero workshop. It's a fantastic idea and the feedback from the customers who attended was very positive. Basically, existing Salesforce admins bring their "App Ideas" to the workshop and the experts help them get from idea to working prototype in two days. We had over a dozen customers present their ideas Monday morning and they ranged from invoice generation to custom quoting interfaces. The majority of the applications were prototyped using the Declarative features of Salesforce with a few exceptions that had some moderate Visualforce requirements. Here's a quick run down of the prototype I built in the workshop.

The goal was to replace an existing Tomcat application. It creates custom quotes for the sales team. I can't post actual screenshots, but here's the mockups we started with and a few views of the final prototype. We're looking forward to the workshop next year.
